Medium Voltage Capacitor Bank

Medium voltage capacitor banks are mainly used at renewable power plants, transmission and distribution systems and industrial fa to correct power factors. They contribute to improve power systems efficiency: Increase the quality of service, reduce system losses and protect electrical equipment life cycle.

Features MKP-type capacitors that are low-loss (0.25W/kVar) in a cylindrical aluminum casing. The MKP-type capacitor is a metallized polypropylene film capacitor featuring self-healing properties and an overpressure tear-off fuse. To reduce the effects of electrical and thermal overload and extend operation life expectancy, the capacitors are connected during zero-current crossing and operated in a time-sharing mode (SCAN).
